Doctoral Programs

At a minimum, candidates must submit the following for consideration of acceptance in a doctoral program: 

  1. A completed graduate application form, including a non-refundable application fee (unless waived) 

  2. Official transcripts from all previous U.S. colleges attended or official NACES course-by- course evaluation of any foreign transcripts* 

  3. Completion of a bachelor’s degree in relevant major with minimum GPA of 3.0 and a master’s degree in relevant major with minim GPA of 3.25 for EdD and 3.50 for DSC. 

  4. Official documentation of English Language Proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS) if applicable 

  5. Essay 

  6. Resume 

  7. Recommendation letter(s) 

*Note: NJCU does not evaluate international transcripts. In lieu of a transcript, applicants with a non-U.S. degree need to submit a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES Accredited Member that includes U.S. bachelor’s degree equivalency information for their coursework. 

Doctoral students, once admitted to their respective program must follow all of the guidelines required of any other graduate student and adhere to the specific program standards found in the Doctoral Handbook.
