Academic Honors/Dean's List
Dean's List
- Students with a semester average of 3.5 or better of computable letter grades will be placed on the Dean’s List; provided they are in good academic standing.
- Students with a grade of "Incomplete" cannot be considered eligible for the Dean’s List.
- The Dean's List is issued by the Provost and Sr. Vice President of Academic affairs and/or their designee once after each Fall and Spring Semester.
Qualifications
- Full-time Students – A minimum of 12 credits of computable letter grades in a semester.
- Part-time Students – A minimum of 6 to 11.5 credits for two consecutive semesters.
Graduation with Honors
Students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.65 or higher as they begin their final semester at the University will be officially recognized as honors graduates and designated as follows:
- 3.65-3.79 cum laude
- 3.80-3.89 magna cum laude
- 3.90-4.00 summa cum laude
Based on a minimum of 30 credit hours in residence at New Jersey City University. Only graduates with a cumulative average of 3.65 or higher will have an honors notation on their permanent records.
