Certificate in Behavior Management and Introductory Applied Behavior Analysis
Study of developmental behaviors and challenges in children and youth and evidence based practices that create positive and supportive environments for growth and learning are reviewed. Preparation includes basic principles of applied behavior analysis and is preparatory to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s examination for Registered Behavior Technician. Evidence based practices that create positive and supportive environments for growth and learning are studied to understand and treat developmental behavioral challenges in children and youth.
This program accepts people with grade point averages of 3.0 and above. It will also accept people with grade point averages as low as 2.70 (GPA) on a case-by-case basis. Successful completion of the program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in the Certificate in Behavior Management and Introductory Applied Behavior Analysis coursework together with a passing score on the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s examination for Registered Behavior Technician enables the candidate to receive the Certificate. Successful completion of the program permits a person whose GPA in the last degree was less than 3.0 to apply for graduate study in Education or Psychology at New Jersey City University.

The 13 credit program is NOT a degree program. It is an NJCU Certificate program.
Successful program completion requires a GPA of 3.0 or better in the course of study as well as a passing score on the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s Registered Behavior Technician examination.
