Fire Science, Minor
A minor In Fire Science is available primarily for those students who do not wish to major in Fire Science, but are interested in intensive study in a professional concentration.
Students minoring in Fire Science, will be required to complete 18 semester hours in Fire Science Courses in residence at NJCU.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Fire Science minor students will be able to:
- Students will be able to communicate clearly and concisely (orally and/or in writing) regarding current critical emergency service issues.
- Evaluate the role of risk management in the proper formulation of effective tactics and strategies to safely and successfully mitigate fire and emergency events.
- Appraise and analyze building construction in terms of structural limitations and collapse / fire spread potential.
- Apply ethical reasoning and analysis to the decision-making process in regard to personnel and resource management.
