Art—B.A. Fine Arts and Crafts

The Fine Arts and Craft specialization offers the student a course of study that fosters the ability to invent and fabricate unique, hand-crafted objects. Exploring a range of traditional and contemporary technologies, students are challenged to pose meaningful questions through their art-making practice.  Problem solving and self-expression are emphasized in this liberal art degree, as students advance their understanding of the world and its people.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION AND PROGRESS

  • There is no formal review process for admission to the BA in Art program.
  • Students must maintain a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 in order to graduate.

Upon completion of the Fine Art and Craft program, students will be able to:

  1. Compose artworks in a range of visual art studio practices with technical proficiency.
  2. Analyze formal elements of works of art, craft, and design or other items of material culture.
  3. Interpret works of art in light of the social and historic context in which they were produced.
  4. Develop a general art/design portfolio.
